Hello everybody! I recently collaborated on the illustrations for, My Cat is a Jerk, by Maeve Jopson! Her Indiegogo campaign to help publish the book is up and running with less than a week left. Help us reach our goal and get a super cute cat book to boot!

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/my-cat-is-a-jerk-children-s-book

Talents Include:

Ellen Alsop (RISD BFA Illustration 2013)

Hope Anderson That’s me! (RISD BFA Printmaking 2013)

Esther Hong (RISD BFA Illustration 2013)

Maeve Jopson (RISD BFA Industrial Design 2013)

Thor Oren (RISD BFA Sculpture 2014)

Cynthia Poon (RISD BFA Industrial Design 2013)

Frank the cat (RISD BFA Being a Jerk)

"My Cat is a Jerk" is a children’s book that takes a humorous look at the responsibilities (and rewards) of being a pet owner. Frank is a feisty cat who causes a lot of trouble, but, deep down, is a sweetheart.

If you like cats, crayons, children’s books, supporting artists or supporting animal shelters this book is for you! Even if you hate all of those things… you can get one and, I don’t know - burn it? Either way, we thank you for your support!

Hello everybody, long time no see!

Just stopping by to mention that the Ottawa International Animation Festival has started!

I have a new animation called "Piggy’s Big Day" premiering at the festival on Sept. 19th, 20th + 22nd and a director’s talk on Sept. 21. If you happen to be going to the festival, check it out. I’ll be there!

Okay. Have a nice day!

I think this was going to be an animation at some point…

I think this was going to be an animation at some point…

Here’s a rough little piece for a sound based animation assignment. We were given a few sound clips to choose from and could work with sand, charcoal or paint on glass.

This is drawn in one take with charcoal and conte crayon. I animated it backward… because I enjoy making my life harder than it needs to be.

Someone at the lovely AS220 Printshop Instagrammed a 43 page tunnel book I had on display at RISD’s Expose gallery back in the fall! The book exists thanks to AS220 Labs, their super cool lasercutter and their super cool staff… and Dan Wood for convincing me to take advantage of the wonders of lasercutting.
I haven’t posted pictures of it yet, because it’s really hard to photograph. I am also terrible at photography. But stay tuned, I’ll post them eventually!
